   Dans la série : recensons les blogs calédoniens, en voici un en anglais ! Je vous conseille d'y faire un tour, il y a plein de choses intéressantes, comme cet article du Financial Times sur les élections françaises vues de Nouvelle-Calédonie, où il est écrit :

"Having come close to civil war in the 1980s, New Caledonia continues to have an uneasy relationship with "la Métropole", which is what France is called by its overseas citizens. Although the past decade has been marked by political stability and economic growth, the independence issue remains very much alive.

New Caledonia's pro-Paris camp, on the other hand, is betting heavily on Nicolas Sarkozy, the UMP's candidate to replace Jacques Chirac. Mr Sarkozy is almost guaranteed victory in New Caledonia, as the indigenous parties represent less than half of the electorate of 146,000.

The island's pro-independence parties are overcoming rivalries and rallying around Ms Royal. In the last presidential election in 2002, many indigenous parties boycotted the vote, leading to a turnout of 49 per cent."
